Preparations are being made across the country for the Darkness into Light Fundraiser for the mental health Charity Pieta House.
The walking event is staged at 4am to ensure that the walk concludes as dawn arrives to give a symbolic feeling of brightness and hope. The event is sponsored by Electric Ireland, and will take place at 4.15 am on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
The organisers of the Tipperary town walk are encouraging participants to register as soon as possible. People can register in person at Tipperary town Shopping Centre on Saturday(April 12th) between noon and 4pm. The Tipperary town walk will start from the Arravale Rovers GAA Club, Sean Treacy Park on Station Road (E34 DK26).Events are also planned for Carrick on Suir, Clonmel, Killaloe/Ballina, Nenagh, Roscrea and Thurles. Darkness into light has been running since 2009 and full details can be found on the website www.darknessintolight.ie.
