A fire is reported to be ongoing in the woods in the Glen of Aherlow as of mid afternoon.
The fire is understood to be in the area between the Millennium Stone and Ballagh. Units from Tipperary town and Cahir fire service are on site at present.
Cllr Anne Marie Ryan is advising people to avoid the area for their own safety and to enable the emergency services to respond.
The ongoing dry weather has seen several fires in upland and wooded areas throughout the country in recent weeks.
