The number of persons in State Funded Emergency Accommodation in February shows an increase of 92 persons nationally compared to January 2025. The Homeless data for February was published on Friday without comment from the Housing Minister James Browne.
The total number of people in Emergency Accommodation because they presented as homeless to their local council is 15, 378 – this is made up of 10,725 adults and 4,653 children.
The number of people in Emergency Accommodation in county Tipperary increased by 7 persons from 74 in January to 81 in February. County Limerick also reports an increase from 489 in January to 505 persons in February.
The total does not include those who may be sleeping rough, sleeping in cars or living in overcrowded or insecure accommodation. It also does not include an estimated 3,000 people that have claimed Asylum in Ireland but have not been offered accommodation.
