Several Local Hospitality businesses were winners in the Munster Round of the Irish Restaurants Awards last night. 8 of the 18 category awards for the Tipperary winners went to hospitality businesses in West Tipperary
The county Tippeary winners will now go forward to the All-Ireland Restaurant Awards to be held in Dublin on May 19th.
Oh Sugar Coffee & Bakehouse, Tipperary town, emerged as the best Café in Tipperary while O’Neills in Thomastown won best Customer service. Chez Hans in Cashel won for Best Restaurant and for Best Restaurant Manager – awarded to Louise Matthiae. The Bishops Buttery at the Cashel Palace Hotel won for Best Chef Stefan McEnteer, Best Wine Experience in Tipperary and for Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant in the county. Baileys’ Hotel in Cashel won the county award for best Casual Dining.
The Runner Bean Coffee shop in Thurles won for Best Social Media while the Arch Bar in Thurles was the winner of the Best Gastro Pub Category. Karli Fee won for Employee Excellence on behalf of Central House Dining in Clonmel, The Best Newcomer award went to Sadler’s Restaurant in Fethard, The Local Food Hero Award was presented to the operators of Rívesci in Clonmel – Shannon Forest and Declan Malone. The Best Contemporary Irish Cuisine Award went to Larkins Bar and Restaurant, Pub of the Year went to The Thatch in Cloneen and the Best World Cuisine Award went to Bodega 1830 in Clonmel.
The final two Awards – Best Sustainable Practice went to the Cloughjordan Eco village while the Innovator of the Year Award went to The Lazy Cow Coffee house in Carrick on Suir.
