Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Council is awarding a total of €106,750 to support Festivals and Events in the District this year.
Five larger events will share €34,000 – Cashel Arts Festival €15,000, Queen of the Castle Cahir €7,000, Ballyporeen Music Maker Festival €5,500, Rhododendron Walking Festival Clogheen €3,500 and Boherlahan Bianconi Commemorations €3,000.
65 smaller festivals and events in the Tipperary Cahir Cashel District will share a total of €72,750. These events are allocated grants ranging from €300 to €2,500. Four groups secured grants of €2,500 – The Tipperary Music Festival, the Ardfinnan Family Fun Day, a Festival of Music and Dance at the Tipperary Excel Centre and the Christmas Market event in Tipperary Town organised by the Tipperary Town Business and Marketing Group. This Group also secured €1,000 each for events at Easter and Halloween intended to drive footfall into Tipperary town’s retail centre. This group is now formally established as the Tipperary Town Chamber of Commerce remains mired in dormancy due to the lack of an AGM since 2020.
