Preparations are continuing for Daffodil Day in Tipperary town on Friday March 28th.
Volunteers will be in the Community Services Centre on Thursday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm to accept donations of fresh daffodils for Friday – please enter via the Blind Street entrance. Flowers can also be left in the Community Services centre(St Michael Street) earlier on Thursday up to 1.30pm. Any person wishing to donate daffodils is asked to contact Greta English on 087 225 8748 and volunteers will visit the donor’s property if necessary and pick the flowers.
On Friday volunteers will be in the Tipperary town Shopping Centre near Dunnes stores, in Tesco, in Supervalu, at the Credit Union and on Main street. Daffodil pins are also available in the two banks and in Gerry’s mini market at Bank Place. The funds raised go to supporting the services provided free of charge by the Irish Cancer Society including the night nurse service, the volunteer driver programme and to support cancer research.
