Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Council is to meet on Monday at 11am for the March Meeting.
The eleven councillors will receive a number of updates and will be asked to approve allocations under a number of grant schemes for 2025. The issue of housing is on the Agenda as Council staff update on Housing Services, including the delivery of new builds and acquisitions in the District. The District engineer and District Administrators Reports and the Chief Executive’s orders will also be reviewed at the meeting.
At present there are 864 approved applicants on the social housing list in the District and 37 vacant social houses. A number of housing projects are underway in the district to deliver new social houses/homes – 6 apartments at the former Glove Factory in Tipperary town will be allocated by Focus Ireland, 16 new homes will be provided at the Rosefield Housing development on the Dundrum Road, Tipperary town to be managed by Cluid Ireland. Plans to build four new social houses on Fr Matthew street have run into delays due to the discovery of historical human remains on the site.
Cahir and Cashel towns have significant new social housing developments in progress that will deliver a total of 94 new social homes in Cahir, 104 in Cashel and 7 in Longfield Park Boherlahan. 14 new social homes are also planned for Clogheen
The funding allocations to be approved are for Festivals and Events, Tidy Towns and Burial Ground Grants relating to the District with confirmation letters to be issued to the recipients immediately following the meeting. There are no motions for consideration on Monday’s Agenda
