A long running Charity Event in Pallasgreen has had to postpone their 2025 event which was due to take place on Friday March 28th.
Ireland’s longest Coffee Morning, held in Dromlara at the home of local retired Postman Mike O’Donoghue, has raised over €100,000 for the Irish Cancer Society since it began in 2015. The group of 8 volunteers known as “The Mighty 8” continued through the pandemic by holding sleep outs, 24 hour fasts and sponsored walks throughout the parish.
This year’s event cannot go ahead for now as it has not been possible to secure insurance for the event which is a public event in a private home. The group are adamant that they will hold the event at a later date possibly in a marquee at Mr O’Donoghue’s home later this summer.
Mr O’Donoghue, is expressing gratitude for all the support the group has received over the years and assures the public that everything possible will be done to ensure the event can go ahead as the group “vow to rise again.”
