Former Clanwilliam Rugby club member Amee Leigh Costigan is to captain the Irish Women’s Rugby 15 in their opening six nations match with France in Belfast on Saturday.
Ms Costigan has had a glittering career playing in the Rugby Sevens setting a new try scoring record last year and will win her 14 cap tomorrow. Dorothy Wall, from Fethard is also in the starting lineup for her 33rd international cap.
The Irish team are anxious for a strong showing in the six nations ahead of this year’s Rugby World Cup in August.
Ireland have lost all of their last five games against France. The game on Saturday will kick off at 1pm.
