Thurles Municipal District Council is leading a project in Thurles to plant a new small urban forest. 2,500 trees are to be planted on council owned land near the Mill Road in Thurles tomorrow.The project is being sponsored by AIB as part of the 100 Million Trees Initiative to plant Tiny Urban Forests.
Members of the public, resident’s associations and tidy towns are welcome to attend tomorrow at 10.30am to assist with the planting. Staff from the council will be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the new urban forest which will be adjacent to the planned Thurles Inner Relief Road route. The planting is expected to be completed by lunchtime. The project address is Eircode E41NP02.
