The Taoiseach Micheál Martin continues his St Patrick’s week visit to the US today, with an intensive series of trade promotion and business investment meetings in Washington. Irish and US company leaders are to be met today alongside staff from Enterprise Ireland, the IDA and Science Foundation Ireland.

The Government recently established a group known as the Strategic Economic Advisory Panel of US based business leaders. This Group is to advise the Government about possible challenges ahead in the trade sector given Donald Trump’s America First policy.

Michaela Martin is also to attend the Ireland Funds gala dinner as the key note speaker – this event is expected to raise €1 million for work in cross border community development.

Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath was in the Irish delegation at the White House yesterday.

Four members of Enoch Burke’s family staged a silent protest near the White House yesterday, to protest what they called the lack of religious liberty in Ireland.
