The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is appealing for donors to support the final day of it’s clinic at the Great National Hotel at Ballykisteen just outside Tipperary town.
Due to the upcoming Bank Holiday it is important to have a good response for this clinic which reports lower than usual attendance on Monday and Tuesday. Appointments can be made for any time between 4.50pm and 8.10pm by calling 1 800 222 111.
Details of upcoming clinics and the pre-donation screening can be found on the website Giveblood.ie. The Irish Blood Transfusion service is highlighting that blood products are used by hospitals in cases of baby delivery, cancer treatment, planned surgery and emergency injury situations and says demand has increased by 6% annually in recent years while there has been a fall off in new donors getting involved.
