Tipperary town is to benefit from additional Special Education Needs(SEN) Classes on the recommendation of the NCSE for the coming school year 2025/2026.
This brings to 12 the number of additional SEN Classes for the county in the coming academic year.
The five new classes are at primary schools namely St. Michael’s J.B.S. Tipperary town, St Ailbe’s Thurles, Ballyporeen National School, Nenagh CBS Primary School and St. Joseph’s CBS in Nenagh.
Last week additional post primary classes were announced for the Abbey school and St Anne’s in Tipperary town, the Patrician Presentation in Fethard, the CBS in Thurles, Newport College, St Marys and St Joseph’s in Nenagh.
The additional classes are being welcomed by Tipperary TDs Michael Lowry and Mattie McGrath.
Overall, Minister for Education Helen McEntee has announced 292 new Special Classes across the country with the intention of reaching a target of 400 classes.
