The Irish Wheelchair Association say the retail sector has faced many external challenges over the years and regrettably these challenges have led to the closure of 8 retail shops. The Tipperary town shop operated with a huge contribution from several people as well as receiving support from the IWA shop in Ennis. The sector got a boost last year when Vision Ireland won it’s case in respect of liability for rates. The Supreme Court ruled that the Vision Ireland shop in question should not pay commercial rates, the ruling is expected to be applied to other charity shops nationwide.
The shop is to hold a clearance sale beginning next Monday 10th March at 10 am and is appealing to the public to visit for final bargain offers.. Tipperary town also hosts Charity Shops for Self Help Africa, St Vincent De Paul and for Vision Ireland.
