Free Events Take Place Across The Country As Part Of Local Enterprise Week

Local Enterprise Week continues today with a number of free events across the county.

The week will conclude on Friday at the Student Enterprise County Finals in Thurles at the TUS Campus from 10.30am until 12.30pm – event is open to the public. The winners will represent Tipperary in this year’s All Ireland Final in May.

County Tipperary Local Enterprise Office(LEO) arranges events aimed at all stages of entrepreneurship – from students to self-employment to expansion of business becoming an employer to reaching export markets.

Staff from the office will meet with anyone seeking to develop an idea or a business – at a time that suits the entrepreneur – today staff are facilitating appointments in Templemore library and in the Council offices in Tipperary town. On Thursday staff will meet with prospective clients in the library in the Source Arts Centre in Thurles and on Friday in Carrick on Suir library. On Thursday, Gary Fox an Entrepreneur & Podcaster, will host a workshop on Marketing at the Cashel Palace Hotel, the event runs from 10am to 12.30pm. An online event is scheduled for Thursday afternoon between 2 and 3pm covering Intellectual Property and when you need to take steps to protect yours. Mary White, Irish Trade Mark Agent & EU Professional Representative working with Stobbs IP Ltd will deliver this event.

On Friday Mairead Winters, the EU Just Transition Fund Tourism Activator, within Tipperary County Council, will host a Tourism Activator Clinic as part of Local Enterprise Week. Further details from [email protected]

During the course of the week students from the six Limerick School of Art & Design campuses and the University of Limerick’s Product Design and Architecture programmes are challenged to rethink the future of three market towns in Limerick, Clare & Tipperary. Working in teams, students will analyse challenges, propose entrepreneurial solutions, and craft innovative strategies to revitalise these towns in the context of the decline of traditional retail.
