Cashel Community School are through to the fashion competition Junk Kouture final.
Yesterday Transition Year students Sarah Creed, Emma Hobbert and Alanna Manton showcased their outfit design at the regional final in the Helix in Dublin.
The design was based on the Mad Hatter’s tea party from Alice in Wonderland with some of the materials being used including teabags, coffee pods, forks, old books and pieces of broken mirror.
The competition which is open to 12-19 year-olds offers schools and students a creative way to become involved in active climate change initiatives, empowering them to lasting behavioural change with the aim of challenging young people to design, upcycle and create high end fashion from recycled materials.
