Scoil Aonghusa in Cashel is to receive 14 new Modular classrooms and all associated ancillary accommodation according to Education Minister Helen McEntee.   The new facilities are overdue since 2015 – the school is overcrowded as it accepted students in need of  places and promised resources did not arrive as expected.  4 modular rooms were installed last year.   Deputy Mattie McGrath and Deputy Michael Murphy are both welcoming the announcement for the 150 students attending Scoil Aonghusa in Cashel.

Deputy Murphy sought clarification as to whether a further four class rooms were in discussion, however the Minister says the Department considers the full needs of the school are  met by the 14 classrooms approved today in conjunction to the four rooms added last year.  The Department is to engage with the school to commence the rollout of the new classrooms as quickly as possible. Deputy Murphy says there are 24 teachers on staff and paid tribute to all of the SNAs, the Principal and all other staff in the school for their successful application for additional resources.

Minister McEntee also accepted an invitation to visit both Scoil Aonghusa and Scoil Cormac in Cashel at a future date.
