New Provisional Court Date For New Inn Man Sean Meehan

281

New Inn man Sean Meehan now has a provisional new date to appear in Court in Cashel on March 6th. Mr Meehan did not attend a hearing on February 20th in respect of this planning enforcement case with Tipperary County Council as his solicitor had begun proceedings in the High Court on February 18th to seek a Judicial Review of this planning application refusal by An Bord Pleanála in December 2024.

Judge Brian O’Shea issued an arrest warrant for the pensioner last week as Mr Meehan had pleaded guilty to a breach of planning law in a 2022 hearing  – which he had sought to rectify in the interim by submitting planning applications to Tipperary County Council and An Bord Pleanála. All three applications were unsuccessful.  Tipperary County Council began the case after receiving a complaint from a member of the public about Mr Meehan’s home consisting of a mobile home with log cabin type cladding on land he owns near New Inn.

Garda have not acted on the warrant to date and may wait until the next Court hearing.
