Tipperary county council is seeking feedback from the public in respect of Grant’s Hotel in Roscrea. At present a team of consultants are carrying out a feasibility study to examine if the hotel can be brought back into use as a community hotel. The idea was proposed by the last Government in response to public protest in the town when the only operating hotel, Racket Hall, was converted to be an accommodation centre for people seeking asylum in Ireland.
Roscrea is also one of the towns taking part in the Town Centre First process to regenerate the town. The council are inviting the public to meet with the consultants on Thursday February 27th at the Black Mills. The public can visit any time between 1.30pm and 5.30pm or can also make any suggestions or proposals by emailing [email protected] using the subject line “Roscrea Feasibility Study”.
The former Hotel building in Roscrea town centre traded under a number of names over the years – Grants, the Damer Court and the Pathe and has been closed since 2013. State funding of €150,000 has been allocated for the feasibility study
