Powerstown/Lisronagh Comhaltas in Clonmel is to host the 2025 County Tipperary Fleadh in Clonmel, in collaboration with the Tipperary County Board.
The County Fleadh will take place the weekend of the 17th and 18th May 2025 in the Gaelcholaiste, Clonmel. Hundreds of musicians, their families and a wider audience of traditional music fans are expected to visit Clonmel for the event
A number of events are being arranged in the run up to the county Fleadh including a workshop titled Scoil Fonn agus Amhrán, an art competition for primary schools with the theme “Traditional Irish Music,” a singing circle event, a Dramaiocht competition for primary schools and a music for all event that is inclusive of neurodivergent individuals. The committee also hopes to have music on the Plaza at the former Kickham Army Barracks on the Waterford road.
Chairperson of Powerstown/Lisronagh Comhaltas, Róisín Egan, says the group are looking forward to hosting other branches from North and South Tipperary in Clonmel for Fleadh Cheoil and while the event is not on the same scale as the All Ireland event the branch is hoping that it will be a fun and memorable event for the town of Clonmel with lots of “ceol agus craic”.
Clonmel previously was the home of many successful All Ireland Fleadhanna over the years (1992-1994, 2003 and 2004). The All Ireland Fleadh is set for Wexford this year and will make history in 2026 when it is staged in Belfast for the first time ever.
