Tipperary Musical Society is to begin a 6 night run of their 2025 production Rock of Ages The Musical at the Excel Centre in Tipperary town tonight.
The show is a jukebox musical that brings the iconic sounds of 1980s glam metal to life with hits from bands like Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, and Europe. The cast have been rehearsing for almost 5 months perfecting their performances at St. Anne’s School. The production completed costume set, sound and lighting checks over the last week with a full Dress Rehearsal yesterday.
For the fourth year the Society’s production is directed by Paul Norton with Choreographer Stephanie Browne, and Musical Director Mary Rose McNally once again offering their expert guidance and passion for theatre to the production. The show has a parental Guidance Rating of 13 years due to some of the language and settings involved.A handful of balcony tickets are available and the Society is encouraging the audience to arrive in good time to park in advance of the 8pm curtain. The Bar in the Excel will be open from 7pm each evening with No 23 Main Street Restaurant offering a special pre show dinner deal on Friday and Saturday nights.
