Tipperary County Council is giving advance notice of extensive road works on the N24 between Cahir and Clonmel starting next Monday February 24 and due to be completed on November 18th 2025.
The work involves restructuring of the road and the installation of new footpaths and cycle paths on the route which has had several collisions. The kerbing at junctions along the 1.2 km section of the N24 will also be upgraded and the roadway will be narrowed. There will be new safety barriers and the existing barriers will be repositioned. Some works on improving drainage and landscaping the area are also included.
The work will be done in three phases with the first phase involving road restructuring from the Poulmucka junction towards Clonmel. Temporary Traffic management will be in place and the council has requested that road closures (if any) will be at night-time.
Drivers are asked to allow extra time for their journey on the route and to drive with caution for their own safety and the safety of construction workers. Residents on adjacent local roads may also experience an increase in traffic volumes.
