Children living in or near county Tipperary with lifelong physical health conditions and disability can get creative and connect with others at a free Easter camp this spring. The camp will be held in Nenagh and will be run by award-winning national children’s arts and health charity Helium Arts. The event will have medical support staff on hand and is encouraging parents and guardians of children aged between 8 and 12 years of age to consider attending.
The event will take place on the 16th and 17th of April in the Tyone Community Centre in Nenagh. Applications can be submitted online at helium.ie and the deadline is tomorrow February 14th. The camp will offer fun art workshops led by professional artists, supported by friendly volunteers, with a medic on site to ensure a safe and secure environment.
In Ireland, 156,437 or 12% of children and teenagers are living every day with the challenges of a lifelong physical health condition. Helium Arts also offers materials that children can use at home for creative activities that gives them the opportunity for connection, belonging, imagination and joy.
Helium Arts’ Nenagh Easter Camp is part of a project funded by Creative Ireland’s Creative Health & Wellbeing programme in conjunction with Tipperary County Council, Clare County Council and Limerick City & County Council, as well as the JP McManus Charitable Foundation.
