Knockmealdown Active is to offer an opportunity for walkers to complete the St. Declan’s Way Pilgrimage later this year with support teams. The trail links Ardmore in Waterford to Cashel in County Tipperary. This guided walk offers the theme of Walk – Reflect – Revive for 2025.
This pilgrimage takes walkers past iconic landmarks such as the Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle and Mount Melleray Abbey.
Over a range of dates in April and May Knockmealdown Active is offering guided walks in six individual stages covering over 120 km. Walkers can choose to complete individual stages or the full six-stage pilgrimage experience. The first stage begins in Cashel on April 12th and covers a distance of 21 km to Cahir, the stage from Cahir to Goatenbridge begins on April 13th, from Goatenbridge to Mount Melleray is on May 10th, Mt Melleray to Lismore is on May 11th Lismore to Aglish on May 24th and Aglish to Ardmore on May 25th. The fee for the walk offers participants the guided walk, bus transfers, steward support, water stops, and refreshments in community halls
