Efforts are underway to revive the AllotmEnts in Tipperary town with support from the Knockanrawley Resource Centre and the existing plot holders
Several of the plots at the site in Carrowclough are actively used with a strong interest in growing mostly vegetables.
The site has been the victim of illegal dumping and is in need of a clean-up and enhanced security measures. The Community Gardener based at Knockanrawley Resource Centre is offering advice and support including offering frames for two polytunnels. Progress is to be made as regards investigating the need for insurance, the allocation of existing plots and any conditions from the land owner Tipperary County Council. A tentative date for an Open Day at the Tipperary town Allotments is set for Saturday March 29th between 2pm and 4pm.
