Cork Jockey Michael O’Sullivan remains in critical condition after a fall during a race at a Race Meeting in Thurles yesterday.
Mr O’Sullivan, 25, had been riding Wee Charlie for Gerard O’Leary when five horses fell at the last fence in a two mile race. Two other horses were badly hampered and unseated their riders. Mr O’Sullivan received extensive treatment from the on course medical team and was later transported by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
The injury occurred in the second race and after a long delay the rest of the race meeting was abandoned.
