40 County Tipperary Ryan Youth Orchestra Musicians Selected To Perform At National Concert Hall

40 young musicians in the County Tipperary Ryan Youth Orchestra have been selected to part in the 29th Annual Festival of Youth Orchestras at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, tomorrow.

The group were selected to perform at 1pm in a concert that also features Youth Orchestras from Cork, Louth and Galway.

The Tipperary Orchestra will perform for 30 minutes with music from Bizet and Strauss interspersed with a melody of ABBA songs and music associated with the James Bond Movies.

The young musicians have been rehearsing at St Ailbe’s school in advance of the Festival.

The Orchestra will be conducted by Michael John Ryan while his son Daniel, currently a student in Cork School of Music, will make his debut as a Conductor in the National Concert Hall.

The family own and operate a Music Academy in Tipperary town since 1979 associated with the famed Danny Ryan Music Shop in Bank Place.

Michael John is Danny Ryan’s son.This is the Orchestra’s 6th time taking part in the Festival of Irish Youth Orchestras most recently in 2016.

The County Tipperary Ryan Youth Orchestra was established in the 1980s and is now one of over 100 Youth Orchestras across the country.
