Preparations Continue Across The County As Planning Takes Place For St Patrick’s Day

Preparations are continuing across the county for St Patrick’s Day – Newport is to hold it’s parade on Saturday March 15th with a mid-day start time. Cashel and Carrick on Suir will March on Sunday March 16th.  Thurles, Clonmel, Cahir, Littleton and Tipperary town will march at varying times on Monday March 17th. Organisers report some difficulties in securing insurance, bands, crowd control barriers, participants for the parade and volunteers to help on the National Holiday.

The Tipperary Town parade Committee is to meet tonight at 7.30pm in Roche’s Bar on O’Brien Street – the chair of the committee Cllr John O’Heney says all are welcome to attend and ideas and suggestions are welcome. The time and route is to be finalised tonight but is expected to be 2pm start on March 17th from The Plan area on Davitt Street along O’Connell Road to O’Brien street and then along Main street.
