Drivers in the Tipperary Town area are advised that the construction works at the James Connolly junction on the N74 Cashel road has been completed and the R661 Dundrum road junction is now fully reopened to traffic. The Red weather alert last Friday caused a delay in completing the work due to health and safety reasons.
The junction had been closed since January 13th to enable significant drainage and utilities upgrades to be installed along with new footpaths and road resurfacing.
The one-way traffic system continues on the N74 in Tipperary town for outbound traffic. Traffic entering Tipperary town continues to be diverted via Knockanrawley and the Bansha Road. The overall project on the Fr Matthew Street Cashel Road is expected to be completed by late Summer. Full details of this project are available on the dedicated website www.tipperarytown.ie
