Flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics taking place across south Tipperary for healthcare workers are also available on a walk-in/no appointment necessary basis to members of the general public in ‘at risk’ groups.

Clinics are available in Tipperary town today Tuesday from 10am to 3pm at the HSE’s Tipperary Primary Care Centre, Rosanna Rd., on Wednesday the clinic is in Cashel at Our Lady’s Hospital also from 10am to 3pm, on Thursday the clinic is in Cahir at the Primary Care Centre from 10am to 3pm and on Friday the clinic is at  the Tipperary South Vaccination Centre, located on the grounds of St. Luke’s Hospital, Clonmel.  People can get the COVID-19 booster and Flu vaccine at the same time.

At Risk Groups include anyone aged 60 or over, those who are pregnant, someone with a health condition that puts them at higher risk of flu, those living with or caring for such a person and those in regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl.  Others aged between  6 months and 59 years with a weak immune system can also get vaccinated free of charge as can those aged six months to 59 years with a condition that puts them at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19.

As high numbers of people presenting with symptoms of respiratory illness is placing pressure on hospitals the HSE is asking everyone to help stop the spread of Flu by staying at home if they are unwell. The INMO reports that 682 admitted patients were on trolleys yesterday including 30 in Tipperary University Hospital Clonmel and 98 in University Hospital Limerick.
