Several Roads Impacted By Fallen Trees In The Tipperary Area

Members of the public are reporting trees down on several roads across the county

  • The Fethard to Cashel Road is blocked by a fallen tree and power lines between Coolmine and Moyglass.
  • A tree is also reported to have fallen on the Bansha side of the Coach road in the Glen Of Aherlow.
  • A tree is currently being cleared on the road into Cappawhite from Annacarty and the ESB has been alerted to power line on the ground in the area.
  • Council staff are on the way to deal with a fallen tree in Goatinstown near Ardfinnan.
  • A fallen tree is also resting on power lines on the Templemore to Dunkerrin road as posted by Seamus Healy TD who also posted details of another large tree blocking the road between Templemore and Roscrea.
  • There are also reports of two trees down blocking the Horse and Jockey to Thurles Road.
  • Members of the public also report that the Milltown to Clonoulty Road is impassable.
  • Drivers say there are multiple trees down between Monard and Shannon Airport but the route is passable.
  • A driver also reports that the Golden to Tipperary Town road is clear but small pieces of debris in places. 
  • Cahir/Cashel, Thurles and Tipperary Town Garda station say they have no reports of damage or injuries to date.

The public are asked to report incidents of trees down to the Council by calling a new Severe Weather phone line at 0818 06 5001.  The usual customer service desk will be in operation at 0818 06 5000/6000 and a dedicated Severe Weather contact number 0818 06 5001 will be operating from 9am until 10pm today following which the out of hour number (0818 06 5003) will be activated again until Saturday at 9am

On Saturday, the Tipperary County Council customer service desk (0818 06 5000/6000) and dedicated severe number (0818 06 5001) will be in place from 9am until 1pm and then the out of hours number (0818 06 5003) will be in operation for the remainder of the weekend until Monday at 9.30am.
