The Cahir Garda Old Folks Party planned for Friday evening is now postponed due to the severe weather warnings – approximately 200 guests had been expected to attend. Cllr Andy Moloney says for safety reasons, the organising committee have made the decision to postpone the event.
A new date has been confirmed and the party will instead now be taking place in a week’s time on Friday 31st January at 5pm in Cahir House Hotel.
A Status Red Wind Warning is in place for county Tipperary from 6am to 11am on Friday while a Status Orange Wind Warning covers the county from midnight tonight until 4pm on Friday. The warnings were updated today and may be changed again as more weather data becomes available. The latest weather updates can be found at this link here.
The storm may cause power outages or fallen trees and cancellation of transport services and will pose a serious risk to life.
