Met Eireann is now putting a Status Orange – Wind warning in place for Tipperary and all of Ireland. The forecaster says the upcoming storm Éowyn will bring Gale force southerly winds becoming westerly with severe, damaging and destructive winds with gusts of up to 130km/h widely, with even higher gusts for a time.
This could cause fallen trees, damage to power lines and power outages, structural damage, very difficult travelling conditions, disruption and cancellations to transport and wave overtopping in coastal areas. The warning comes into effect at 2am on Friday morning and is in place until 5pm on Friday. The warning was issued at 8.34am today. Weather warnings can be viewed at this link here.
Foggy conditions persist in Tipperary this morning with a Status Yellow fog alert in place until 10 o’clock – the fog warning also covers Waterford, most of Leinster and counties Cavan and Monaghan. Met Éireann warns that the dense fog will lead to impaired visibility and drivers are advised to use their fog lights as appropriate.
