Glas Civil Engineering, the contractors working on the N74 road project in Tipperary town, are focusing efforts on the Junction with the R661 (Dundrum Road) at present. The junction is closed to vehicular traffic until January 27th although pedestrian access is being maintained.
The works involve the replacement of a deep sewer pipe, the undergrounding of power, telecoms and broadband cables, new kerbing, a narrowing of the junction and new footpaths and roadway surface.

At present staff are working from 7am until late in the evenings – up to 10pm on some occasions. No overnight work will take place unless it is necessary to meet the deadline, if the work is completed the junction may re-open earlier. Details of the project can be found on the website www.n74tipperarytown.ie.
