The County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce is calling for supports for local Businesses after the recent severe weather.

The County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce says prolonged closures, significant revenue losses, and unexpected costs have left many businesses struggling to recover.

Speaking about the impact, Michelle Aylward, CEO of County Tipperary Chamber, says “Without immediate support, the recovery will be slow and uncertain.” Many members report revenue losses of between €1,000 to €5,000, while others report even greater losses.

The Chamber is holding engagements with Local Public representatives and is seeking a meeting with key government departments, including Enterprise, Trade and Employment and Finance, to highlight the urgent need for targeted support measures. The support measures could include financial grants to help cover revenue losses and unexpected costs, commercial rates relief, support for energy costs to manage heating bills during the cold weather and improved snow and ice management in commercial areas to prevent future disruptions.
