New hazards Emerge As Thaw Sets In Across Tipperary

New hazards are emerging as the thaw sets in across Tipperary.

A wrought iron gutter has collapsed onto St Michael Street, possibly due to the impact of frozen snow. The gutter/chute broke and split into two pieces due to the fall from the eves of a three storey building. No injuries are reported due to the failure of the gutter earlier today.  Warnings have also been issued about snow possibly sliding off of roofs as it melts.

Roadways are narrower than normal in some cases due to piles of snow. Some footpaths are clear of snow and ice but many footpaths around Tipperary remain covered in frozen snow or in some cases compacted snow and ice. In some cases, homes and businesses that are vacant  have no one to clear snow in their area.

None of the three public car parks in Tipperary town have been cleared of snow and ice although drivers are using the car parks on Abbey Street, Bank Place and in the Market Yard as businesses try to trade following several days of disruption.
