Major Roadworks in Tipperary town are to resume on Monday January 13th.
Glas Civil Engineering is reminding residents and drivers that a single lane on Fr Matthew Street, also known as the Cashel road and the N74 will be put in place to allow outbound traffic only and to facilitate road works on the left hand side (LHS) as you exit Tipperary Town. The junction at James Connolly Park on the R661(Dundrum Road) and Fr Matthew Street will also be closed until January 24th to allow the completion of extensive roadworks at this location.
The Contractor communicated directly with local residents this week about the resumption of parking restrictions. The project has been on a Christmas break since December 20th and to date most of the work on the right hand side from the Bansha Road (N24) Roundabout to the town limits past St Michael’s Cemetery have been completed. New footpaths have been installed, and all utilities upgraded – including electricity, telecoms, water and wastewater.
The project has an overall cost of €6m funded by €5m from Transport Infrastructure Ireland and €1m from Uisce Éireann.
