Garda have arrested a driver on a range of offences after initially stopping the car on a speeding offence.
Members of the Tipperary Roads Policing Unit carrying out speed compliance checks across Tipperary Central intercepted the vehicle travelling at 81km/h in a 50km zone.
The motorist was arrested on suspicion of Drug Driving after failing a roadside drug test for Cannabis. Garda have also confirmed that the driver was a novice driver.
An Garda Siochana are being praised for detecting the offences and for helping to make roads safer for all users. The Roads Policing Unit is supporting a “None for the Road” Campaign message as it appeals to drivers to never ever drink or drug drive.
