Drivers Warned Of Foggy Conditions Following A Status Yellow Low Temperature & Ice Warning

224

Drivers are warned of foggy conditions this morning. A heavy overnight frost may also have left some icy patches on roads and footpaths.  A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning is in effect until 11am today and Met Eireann expects the low temperatures to continue through to the end of next week warning of the possibility of significant snowfall as an Arctic air mass is set to bring bitterly cold conditions.

Temperatures are forecast to fall significantly below freezing in the early part of next week, with overnight temperatures possibly as low as -10C in places on Tuesday night.

Tipperary County Council crews will spread salt and grit on approximately 1,100 kilometres of Primary, Secondary and Regional roads during the cold spell but all roads are not treated due to capacity constraints.
