Tipperary town Meals and Wheels service is to benefit from a Social Hurling Tournament planned for January 4th at the Abbey School’s astro pitch.
The event is being organised by Billy Ryan and the West Tipp Slashers with social/exercise benefits also arising from the one day tournament running from noon to 4.30pm.
The Meals on Wheels service incurred an expense of €7,000 during the year to replace the engine in their delivery van and hope the event can help to make up this amount.
The event is confined to 14 teams of 8, the matches on the day are 20 minutes in duration and only goals are allowed in the scoring.
