The Tipperary Local Development Committee is reminding the public that December 18th is the closing date for expressions of interests for a competitive call under the LEADER programme for community and social enterprise projects in the area of environmental enhancement. A count wide fund of €300,000 is available.
Eligible projects can be in the areas of improving biodiversity, restoring or developing habitats, improving water quality in lakes, rivers and streams, conserving water or facilitating energy conservation and renewable energy initiatives. Development of Community Gardens, Allotments / Grow-it-Yourself initiatives operating on high nature value principles, with priority given to disadvantaged areas are also eligible for consideration. Funding can in some cases be used for feasibility or technical studies.
Projects that are approved in the first stage will be then be invited to make a more detailed and comprehensive application in the Spring 2025
Applications from North Tipperary should be submitted to the North Tipperary Development Company office in Nenagh and projects based in South Tipperary should be submitted to the South Tipperary Development Company office based in Cahir – please see company website for further information at this link here.
