Garda working with Tipperary Roads Policing are warning drivers to never “Drug Drive.”
Garda say that cocaine use and driving are a toxic combination and highlight that cocaine use can lead to impulsive behaviour, increases the tendency to take risks, distorts driver’s judgement and ability to react and also impairs the drivers ability to concentrate when driving. The appeal is for drivers to be mindful of the risks if tempted to use cocaine over the coming weeks as part of social activities.
The roads unit says a driver failed a roadside drug test on Monday at a routine check point delivered in Cahir with the Road Safety Authority. The driver in question was operating a truck and the time and was arrested following the roadside drug test.
