As crews from Enedis the French electric company arrive in Ireland most of the outages in Tipperary have been repaired following damage from storm Darragh over the weekend.
15 customers in the Roscrea area will not have power restored until 8pm tomorrow night. – they lost power just before 10am on Saturday morning. 10 customers in Ardgeeha near Fethard are due to have power restored at 9pm tonight – the outage first began at 11.30pm on Friday night (December 6th).
The French crews arrived at Rosslare Europort with their own vehicles and 60 staff. There is long standing cooperation in place with electricity network operators in Ireland, the UK and France in providing such support.
Minister of State for International Law, Law Reform and Youth Justice James Browne and H.E. Céline Place, Ambassador of France in Ireland, were in attendance for the arrival of crews at Rosslare Europort.
ESB Networks estimate that power has been restored to 375,000 customers while the number without power is now less than 20,000 nationwide. Updates are posted on the powercheck.ie website.
