A vote of sympathy to the family of Tipperary TD Alan Kelly was passed at today’s meeting of Tipperary Council on the death of his father Tom Kelly.
Mr Kelly died at his home near Portroe outside Nenagh yesterday and had been ill and in University Hospital Limerick at various times over recent months. The Labour Party TD has frequently mentioned his father’s fear of going to UHL at times of illness when discussing UHL in the Dáil.
Tom Kelly is survived by his wife Ann, known as Nan, and his two sons Alan and Declan, daughters-in-law Regina and Julia and 4 grandchildren. Alan Kelly was accompanied by his mother Nan at the General Election Count in Thurles on November 30th.
Mr Tom Kelly will lie in Repose at St. Mary’s Church Portroe this Tuesday from 5-8pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday at 10am at St. Mary’s Church, Portroe, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
