Eight locations in county Tipperary are being encouraged to apply for funding under the Community Recognition Fund. A sum of €404,317 euro is available and applications must be submitted by January 10th. Tipperary county Council says Dundrum, Cahir, Thurles, Roscrea, Clonmel, Borrisokane, Nenagh and Carrick on Suir are the key areas experiencing an increase in population but applications will be considered from other areas if they can demonstrate a high level of new arrivals.

The minimum level of funding for an individual project is €50,000 and it is anticipated that successful projects will be awarded between 50,000 and 60,000 euros. A wide range of actions can be funded from refurbishment of community buildings, purchase of equipment for festivals or clubs, the purchase of land or vacant buildings or projects that address dereliction or wider  local development objectives.

The Community Recognition Fund was set up by the Government in 2023 to recognise the efforts of communities in welcoming and hosting significant numbers of arrivals from Ukraine and other countries. Each county receives an allocation based on the number of new arrivals. Applications can be submitted on the Tipperary County Council Website.
