Tipperary County Council is offering a total of 12 houses in Cashel this week as part of the Choice Based Letting(CBL) system of new home allocation to approved applicants on the social housing list.
The homes in Cashel are 3 and 4 bedroomed houses. There is one three bed house being allocated in Tipperary town. In addition the Council is seeking expressions of interest from people that are approved for social housing for 3 bed homes in Killenaule, Moyglass and Silvermines as a total of 16 houses in all are being offered this week under the CBL system. The Council also allocates some houses under the old system where the applicant is contacted directly.
Under the Choice Based Letting system the Council allows all applicants approved for the relevant house size to express interest. The system has reduced the refusal rate on homes being offered and has also reduced the amount of time it takes to allocate a house as multiple people can express interest simultaneously. Applicants have until next Monday afternoon to log on to the dedicated website to register their interest and can apply for more than one house on each occasion.
