South Tipperary IFA has cancelled a public meeting planned for Cahir House Hotel this evening. The meeting was to feature General Election Candidates but clashed with an election hustings meeting in Clonmel tonight.
The Clonmel meeting is focused on issues causing concern to residents and business owner/operators in the town of Clonmel.
The proposed topics include the possible increase in commercial rates, anti-social behaviour, town centre dereliction, and the impact of changing the town water supply to a hard source which currently being implemented by Uisce Eireann.
The meeting is being organised by Cllr Michael Brennan, a Labour party candidate in the General Election, and will start at 7pm in the Talbot Hotel. All sitting councillors have been invited to the attend the meeting with most of the General Election Candidates expected to participate
