Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for customers supplied by the Carrick On Suir (Crotty’s Lake) Water Supply.

This notice affects approximately 1,937 customers and is necessary due to operational issues at the water treatment plant.
All consumers affected by this notice must boil their water before drinking.

The notice applies to all areas on the Carrick on Suir (Crotty’s Lake) Public Water Supply including all areas South of the river except Friar Street Upper, Corpse Road, Rack Hill, South Quay and Bridge street.

Areas North side of the River Suir are included in the notice  such as Hazel Close, Hawthorn Crescent, Ashgrove, Oak Drive, Beech Ave, Sycamore Close and Mount Saint Nicholas as are the townlands of Ross, Clonmoyle, Ballyhest, Ballygarret, Sheskin, Curraghduff, Joanstown in County Waterford.

The Boil Water Notice does not apply to Uisce Éireann customers supplied by the Carrick On Suir Linguan Water Supply. Uisce Eireann is reminding customers that the water is safe to consume once boiled.

A Boil Water Notice on the Horse and Jockey Public Supply issued on September 3rd also remains in place.  This was issued due to higher than desirable levels of particles in the raw water source.

There is better news for 8,000 customers in the Newport area as a Boil Water Notice on the Newport Public Water Supply is being lifted today.

The notice was issued on November 19th following operational issues at the Newport Water Treatment Plant.

This decision is made in consultation  with the Health Service Executive (HSE).

All consumers on the Newport Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
