Storm Bert Continues To Cause Cancellations Following Warning Issued By Met Eireann

As Met Eireann issues a warning in respect of Storm Bert due to impact Ireland on Friday night into Saturday the current cold snap continues to cause cancellations.

The presentation of Cathaoirleach awards to 11 local groups and individuals due to take place in the Tipperary Excel centre tonight has now been postponed until next Thursday due to the weather forecast. Cathaoirleach Cllr. John Crosse was to present awards to Dr Martin Mansergh, the Tipperary Hills Pitch and Putt Club, the CJ Kickham Band, Bansha Tidy Towns, Cahir Meet and Train Group, Cappawhite Tidy Towns, Cashel King Cormac’s Premier Intermediate Hurling Team, Tom Lewis, Honorary Secretary of the Tipperary Southern and District League, Myles Butcher Shop Ardfinnan, the Peers Standing Strong Together / U Matter Group  and The O’Brien Family and their achievements with the Poulmucka Ploughing Association.  The event will now be held on Thursday 28st

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow – Low Temperature and Ice warning for all of Ireland valid from 8pm this evening until noon tomorrow.  This could lead to Hazardous conditions on roads and paths

Another storm is due on Friday night that has been named as storm Bert –   Met Eireann is forecasting very strong southeast to south winds coupled with heavy rain that could cause fallen trees, localised flooding and travel disruption.  This Status Yellow wind and rain warning comes into effect at 10pm tomorrow night and is in place until noon on Saturday
