Uisce Eireann says it may be tomorrow morning before supply returns for all customers on the Newport Public Water Scheme especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network. Repairs are completed at the Newport Water Treatment Plant and the plant is now back to full production capacity.
The company says customers may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and possibly water outages particularly at higher elevations of the network at Newport, Birdhill, Ballina, Gortybrigane, Ballinahinch, Killoscully and surrounding areas.
The Newport scheme is now on a Boil Water Notice. When supply returns, customers must boil the water before use.
Water tankers will be in place today at three locations –
- Newport Main Street across from O’Sullivan’s Pub.
- Birdhill at Matt the Threshers Pub
- Ballina at GAA Field at Cullenagh.
